TROIKA 2008
Dreams- so ephemeral, so transient and yet they are so indelible from our sub-conscious. They are the perennial fuels that drive us towards the purpose of our fleeting, insignificant existence. Dreams- so momentary, exhilarating; they are the elixir of our higher, spiritual lives. Technology; on the other hand is an art, a capability acquired through proportionate indulgence in erudition and application. Technology is potential; the manifestation of the 'conscious' thought process; the driving force behind civilization’s search for a greater existence. Imagine a scenario, where dreams and technology have a pre-planned encounter. Wouldn't it be an engineer's delight to witness this majestic rendezvous of the 'conscious' and the sub-conscious? This is what 'TROIKA' is all about-the confluence of the conscious and sub-conscious; the coupling of the 'fuel' and the 'force'.
TROIKA-08 promises to captivate one and all with its brain teasing and innovative challenges. The usual mind benders have been inherited from its predecessors; but here lies the catch, TROIKA-08 will be far more challenging; and standards achieved this time will be unprecedented. The 4 day extravaganza will feature a host of grueling competitions. For those having acumen in designing software, ENVISION will provide them the ideal platform with its open and predefined problem contests. For technocrats who want to earn their strikes, TECHNOVISION - the technical paper presentation, is the place to be. Hardware enthusiasts would definitely like to showcase their verve in BRAINWAVE which encompasses the hardware design contest; both open and predefined. RADIX, the robotics competition, with its quintessential crowd-pulling charisma, will be a tough nut to crack this time. Code warriors will have their hands full with BITS and BYTES; the programming challenge. MERCURY, comprising gaming competition will provide the excitement, so very essential to the mind. Animators and designers will have to be at their creative best to stake a claim at the prize money in DESIGN PRO. JUNKYARD will seek to bring out the 'real engineer' in the participants when they attempt to build their 'machines' from nothing but scrap. SPAC will provide an interface between students and industry, and will attempt to bridge the gap between a graduate engineer and professional technologist.
All in all, TROIKA-08 will enchant and appeal not only the engineer but the artist within the engineer with its myriad events. Be there to feel the adrenaline rush and overpower your senses. Be a part of this encounter, live your dream, master the technology, let the artist within you create a master piece.
