Swiber appoints Gupta to Board of Directors

Swiber Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Nitish Gupta to its Board of Directors with immediate effect.

Mr Gupta joined Swiber in May 2006, and is currently leading the Group’s offshore construction operations as its Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Gupta is responsible for overseeing the management of the offshore construction operations along with working on strategic initiatives, business operations and development functions.

“I welcome Nitish Gupta as a member of the Board of Directors,” said Mr Raymond Goh, Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer of Swiber. “Since 2006, Nitish has successfully demonstrated his ability as a capable leader and team player in Swiber, as evident by the phenomenal expansion of our offshore construction business under his guidance."

Mr Gupta has close to 17 years experience in the offshore construction business in India, Southeast Asia, Middle East and the US. Prior to joining Swiber, Mr Gupta has had extensive
working experience in different regions, having worked for a number of established offshore oil and gas construction companies since 1992, where he began as a field engineer in Offshore Pipelines International.

Following that, Mr Gupta joined J Ray McDermott as Project
Engineer, where he was involved in project planning and logistics for various offshore projects. Later, he joined Global Industries, as Project Manager and moved on to become Project Director. Mr Gupta also held the post of Project Manager for Horizon Offshore Contractors. He graduated from the Delhi College of Engineering, Delhi University with a Bachelor degree (Honours) in Civil Engineering.

Commenting on his appointment to the BOD, Mr Gupta said: “I appreciate the Swiber management’s trust and belief in me and look forward to this new role at the Group. This is an important milestone of my career in Swiber and it is my hope to contribute my utmost to the management and corporate development of the Group.”
